Google over time presented different instant messaging platforms, without the expected results. Google Voice, Google Talk, Google Buzz and Google+ Messenger, Space, Allo are some of the attempts.
Anyway, Google returns to bet and this time competing directly with WhatsApp . The service was christened Chat and as the main competition it does not need an internet connection to update the information, a point that sets it apart from the rest of the platforms.
Chat is based on RCS technology, which is the evolution of SMS, provides the same functionalities of the current platforms as WhatsApp and Telegram Messenger with online information, geolocation data, share location, share photos, videos and make video calls, among others.
The launch will be in June in the United Kingdom and France for Android devices, seeking then to extend to the rest of the countries.
