MySpace lost 50 million songs uploaded between 2003 and 2015

The content of the site over 12 years, which includes millions of songs from millions of artists, has been lost due to a problem during a data migration to a new server. MySpace apologizes.

MySpace lost 50 million songs uploaded between 2003 and 2015

MySpace was born in 2003 as a social network and in 2006 was one of the most visited sites in the United States to consume music. At that time, it was the ideal platform for bands to present their latest creations and promote themselves.

Despite the fact that over time it was losing its popularity, for years accumulated millions of songs (approximately 53 million) of more than 14.2 million artists, which have been lost in a server migration.

The same happened with the photos, videos and files uploaded before 2015. That is, they are no longer available on the MySpace platform.

The site said that the migration was carried out incorrectly so the files were corrupt. Others, however, believe that it was a way to reduce costs. Whatever the reason may be ... the content of those years is history.
