The new novelty is available after the latest TikTok update and is being incorporated progressively in each region of the world. To find out if it's available in your area, you should see an "eye" icon in the top right of your account profile.
The purpose of the function is to avoid the use of third-party applications, which are often malicious, to verify who has interacted with our account.
Despite this, the novelty can bring some inconveniences, such as other users knowing if you have visited their profile, which threatens your privacy.
To prevent this from happening, the following steps must be followed:
- Access the application and go to the “Profile” section.
- Select the “eye” icon. Remember that if it does not appear it is because it is not yet available.
- Click on the “gear” icon.
- Disable the “Profile View History” option.
Of course, this also implies having deactivated the option to know who visited our own profile.
