Tinder users can meet through a video call thanks to the fact that the video chat feature is now available worldwide. In a first stage, which began last July, it was tested in some countries such as the United States, Peru, Italy, Spain, Chile, Brazil, among others.
This function is activated the moment both parties decide to do so. In case a party is not interested, the video call cannot be activated. If only one person activates the video chat icon, Tinder will not notify the other.
Once the call is finished, the app will ask how it turned out with the possibility of giving an opinion or making a complaint. This functionality has the necessary security measures such as photo verification and the possibility of detecting if there are offensive messages.
An alternative that the social network proposed, given the confinement imposed by the pandemic, which is here to stay and which will undoubtedly modify the way in which users interact.
