WhatsApp will have the option to use personalized 3D avatars in video calls. Initially it will be available only for Android.
Meta, owner of the messaging platform, is working on the possibility of introducing personalized three-dimensional avatars, so that users can use them in video calls and as stickers in individual and group conversations, on Android devices.
According to WABetaInfo, the company has started working on this option of custom avatars with human faces: “Memoji/Birmoji” for WhatsApp and its availability is planned with the update for Android 2.22.15.5, which was developed through the Beta Program of GooglePlay.
The portal also announced that WhatsApp users will have the possibility of using this option within the video call interface, with which they will be able to change the real image for an avatar (Swith to avatar-Change to avatar, which is not yet working / responding ).
Full goal to extend this option to iOS in future versions.
