Activating this option is very simple, and its purpose is to increase security to avoid being victims of a hijacked account and/or identity theft.
When One-Step Verification is activated, the app asks to register a recovery email and a 6-digit PIN that will be requested when trying to log in with our number on a new device or another terminal. The PIN will also be requested regularly to remind you of it.
Steps to activate the option:
- Enter the 3 points that are at the top right of the WhatsApp main screen,
- Select Settings >> Account,
- Choose Two-Step Verification, and follow the instructions (enter a 6-digit PIN and email address).
It is worth mentioning that, from the same place, it is possible to disable verification, change the PIN and the registered email address.
