In this note we tell you five news recently announced by the instant messaging company. Some of them are already available in beta version.
Animated Stickers: the star of the novelties
These stickers will have movements (a mix of sticker and gift) and will offer a new way of expressing feelings. At the moment this option is only available in the beta version of Android (2.20.195.1) but in the coming weeks they will reach all users.
A more convenient way to add contacts: QR codes
Also available in beta for a few weeks, this option will allow you to add or share contacts without having to send or "dictate" the phone number.
What this function does is create a file with a temporary QR, with a photo and the phone number you want to share. The or other users who wish to add it to the agenda must open the code reader from the app and clean it.
Dark mode on Web and Desktop
This mode will be officially implemented to the WhatsApp Web and Desktop versions. This mode will favor all users to relax their eyes or for a simple aesthetic theme.
Improvements in group video calls
It has been a while since WhatsApp expanded the user limit to make group video calls from 4 to 8 participants. Within this possibility, any user will be able to focus attention on some of the others, maximizing their window as a full screen. To do this, you must hold down the window with your finger.
States, also in KaiOS
To clarify, KaiOS is the non-smartphone operating system.
Now, for this type of phone WhatsApp will offer the new option of being able to share ephemeral stories (they last 24 hours).
