Top ten of the most downloaded apps of the decade
According to the list published by App Annie, which consolidates the data of the two main application platforms of our devices (App Store and Play Store), Facebook controls the first 4 most downloaded mobile apps in the last decade.
First of the list is Facebook and then Messenger , WhatsApp and Instagram in positions 2, 3 and 4.
In fifth place is Snapchat and in sixth place Skype , the telephone network through the internet.
To be surprised in seventh place is TikTok (ByteDance, China). Next is UC Browser which is a cross-platform web browser developed by Alibaba Group (owner of AliExpress) and then YouTube and Twitter at the bottom of the ranking.
According to these results, it is shown that users prefer communication applications and social networks and also that 8 of them were developed in the United States and only 2 in China.
Other rankings of the decade
In addition to the most downloaded apps of the decade, App Annie listed the ones that earned the most revenue in this period. You can see a lot of them that are music and video streaming.
Netflix leads the list and is followed by Tinder, Pandora Music, Tencent Video, the Japanese app Line, iQIYI and in positions 7, 8 and 9 are Spotify, YouTube and HBO NOW. The 10th place is occupied by Kwai, which is a OneSmile service.
With regard to the most downloaded and most profitable games of the decade, Subway Surfers and Candy Crush Saga are at the top. The Temple Run 2, My Talking Tom, Clash of Clans, Pou and Hill Clim Racing games are also in the ranking of the ten most downloaded games since 2010.
Ranking 2019
As for the most downloaded applications during 2019, they do not vary much from those of the last decade since Facebook leads the list with the same apps together with TikTok, completing the first 5 places. Below are SHAREit, Likee, Snapchat, Netflix and Spotify according to the firm's report.
As for the most downloaded games during the year we find: Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, Subway Surfers, Color Bump 3D and Fun Race. The list also includes Run Race 3D, My Talking Tom 2, Homescapes, Stack Ball and Call of Duty: Mobile.
During this year Tinder leads the ranking of the most downloaded paid apps and is followed by Netflix, Tencent Video, iQIYI and YouTube. Among the most downloaded paid games are: Fate / Grand Order followed by Honor of Kings, Candy Crush Saga, Monster Strike and Lineage M.
