Activating the "single view" mode also discourages "sextortion" defined as extortion of the person for having sexual photos or videos of the person.
Some of the features of the functionality:
- End-to-end encryption of both photos and videos sent
- The files under this functionality are not saved neither in the photos section nor in the Gallery of the person who received them.
- The receiver can see the photo only once.
- Photos or videos sent under this functionality cannot be shared, saved or any other option other than viewing only.
- Files last 14 days in chat for the recipient to see; after that period of time the photo or video disappears.
