Reels is a new tool within Instagram that allows you to create 15-second videos from the application itself so that you can share in your stories with the possibility of adding pieces of music, audio, effects and filters.
This new functionality goes directly to attract TikTok users, in general Generation Z and Millennials, who already number more than 1,500 million worldwide.
The big difference and point in Reels' favor is that Reels can take advantage of Instagram instant messaging, while TikTok can't. An advantage when sharing the video with those who want beyond uploading it to the story.
The success of Reels will depend on whether the public joins or not, but if we look back a long time, this strategy is the same that Instagram adopted when adding the stories inspired by Snapchat: a success.
Currently, this functionality is available to users in Brazil, India, France and Germany for both Android and iPhone. But soon more countries will be joining.
